Become This Way
04:45
|
|||
This lone wolf mentality
Is gonna be the death of me
It seems as though it’s far too late
For light to pull me from this place
Mindlessly avoiding trust
Until everything I loved is lost
Never known another way
Just waste away another day
And through my reflection I can see
The danger of this personality
I separate and isolate
Myself from those I love and hate
Shelter me and hide away
Left alone to contemplate
Why I have become this way
All these thoughts won’t leave my brain
Spreading doubt, fear, and pain
Like a virus it overtakes
Leaves me broken and afraid
I need to learn to let you in
Know I’m not alone in this
There is time for me to change
Myself from all these ugly ways
And through my reflection I can see
The danger of this personality
I separate and isolate
Myself from those I love and hate
Shelter me and hide away
Left alone to contemplate
Why have I become this way?

Visual Poetry
04:27
|
|||
There is comfort in the noise
Silence can be deadly
Left to wonder in my own head
Left to replay all the memories
Though I was in love with not being alone
I wasn’t in love with you anymore
And I know that it was for the best
But that didn’t make it hurt any less
And now looking back I can see
You crafted this world to have me believe
That you were still mine
But really you just built those thoughts in my mind
It’s not like what you said
But what my eyes could see
Just like visual poetry
You use your words to paint your lies
Drawing on the insecurities
That I held deep inside
But now I can finally see
That it was all just visual poetry
How did I become so blind?
How did I keep falling for your lies?
You were never worth my time
And I was just the next in line
Now it looks like you’re really trying
To work more on yourself
How did I keep putting myself
Through your living hell?
And now looking back I can see
You crafted this world to have me believe
That you were still mine
But really you just built those thoughts in my mind
It’s not like what you said
But what my eyes could see
Just like visual poetry
You use your words to paint your lies
Drawing on the insecurities
That I held deep inside
But now I can finally see
That it was all just visual poetry

The Hands of Fate
06:46
|
|||
Don’t turn back
Don’t run away
The day has come to test your faith
Will you rise?
Will you fall?
Succumb to their lies
Or will you open your eyes?
Will you succumb to their lies?
Or will you open your eyes to
The hands of fate
Molding life to their form
Destiny awaits behind a single door
So choose wisely
Though your fate’s already set in stone
Running blindly into the mouth of the unknown
Why should I be chasing ghosts?
When everything I love the most
Is right in front of my eyes
Let’s not waste our time
On ancient decrepit lies
No, they can’t control our lives
Let’s not waste our time
On ancient decrepit lies
The hands of fate
Molding life to their form
Destiny awaits behind a single door
So choose wisely
Though your fate’s already set in stone
Running blindly into the mouth of the unknown
The decisions we’ve made
Already foreseen
There’s no need to seek refuge
In something so obscene
Faith is a construct built to deceive
Masked as a virtue, given to the weak
Religion’s the crutch for those who believe
They can be saved from the lives they lead
The hands of fate
Molding life to their form
Destiny awaits behind a single door
So choose wisely
Though your fate’s already set in stone
Running blindly into the mouth of the unknown

Pulling Punches
04:08
|
|||
The powerful shall tell their lies
But we all know they’re undignified
Convincing us that things can’t last
But everything has come and passed
As time ticks by reform is but a notion
Backed by hollow promises and devotion
Controlled by the woes of callous men
We genuflect to their unrighteous ways
They wave their iron fists over the land
The land that they once promised they would save
The powerless will speak the truth
As profits push bullshit as news
Advocating for those without a voice
We’re the fleeting few and far between with a choice
As time ticks by reform is but a notion
Backed by hollow promises and devotion
Controlled by the woes of callous men
We genuflect to their unrighteous ways
They wave their iron fists over the land
The land that they once promised they would save
It’s time we quit pulling our punches
And fight for out right to make a change

Reimagining Colour
04:22
|
|||
Let’s plant the seeds of goodness
In minds with fertile soil
And show them acts of kindness
Can lead us from turmoil
Let’s shed the shells around us
Remove out facades
And discern we’re no different
That we can live as one
All these labels distort our vision
And make it harder to truly see
So let’s reimagine all the colours
And look at what’s beneath
Let’s put an end to all this violence
Show compassion instead of hate
And let’s reimagine all the colours
Before we are too late
We need to learn to let love in
And learn to let it go
‘Cause that’s how we as humans
Evolve ourselves and grow
Let’s lay down our weapons
Do not be deceived
The value of a human life
Is more than we perceive
All these labels distort our vision
And make it harder to truly see
So let’s reimagine all the colours
And look at what’s beneath
Let’s put an end to all this violence
Show compassion instead of hate
And let’s reimagine all the colours
Before we are too late
Seeing new shades and vibrant hues
Show no difference between me and you
Now I’m left to wonder why we fight each other
Is love the answer that pulls us together?
All these labels distort our vision
And make it harder to truly see
So let’s reimagine all the colours
And look at what’s beneath
Let’s put an end to all this violence
Show compassion instead of hate
And let’s reimagine all the colours
Before we are too late
